C++ Developer Lead

Omaha, NE


The Software Developer Lead position is a working management role, as this person will be hands-on with development and design and be responsible for a team.  The Software Architect position will act as a high-level decision maker in the process, determining everything from design choices to technical standards, such as platforms and coding standards. The Software Architect will be responsible for coaching and mentoring the IT development team. This position must share their skills and expertise with their staff as well as set a positive example for them.


This Software Developer Lead position will design, develop and assist with implementing and/or integrating software systems and applications. This position will create software solutions tailored to a client’s specific needs or create products geared for consumers, such as desktop applications or other types of technical solutions. This position will further be responsible for the analysis design, programming, testing and deployment of a project.


The Software Developer Lead will oversee and work closely with other members of the development team. This position will be expected to act as the lead person on all software development and deployment projects. This includes creating a project work plan (PWP) that identifies staffing and project timelines and costs (labor hours and hardware/software requirements), recommending assignments for staff, managing performance of the project, and reporting to management.


The successful candidate will possess experience in the following skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building and implementing/integrating software applications.
  • Strong knowledge of C++/object-oriented programs, SQL, web application development, dashboard development and open source technology.
  • Strong knowledge of user interfaces.
  • User interface development experience using languages such as CSS, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, or JSON.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry, healthcare claims, including Medicare, managed care, or Veterans programs helpful, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Federal system security requirements such as NIST 800-171, 800-53, CMS Minimum Acceptable Risk Standards, etc. helpful, but not required.
  • Not currently sanctioned or excluded from Federal programs by the OIG.






Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide architectural blueprints and technical leadership to IT development team.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform.
  • Collaborate with other groups, including end-users to produce software solutions.
  • Design, develop and execute software solutions to address business requirements and needs.
  • Interpret business requirements to articulate the business needs to be addressed.
  • Troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently.

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: 6 month contract with extensions - Candidates must be eligible to work in the US on a W2 basis without sponsorship or visa transfer
