Performance Test Lead

Lenexa, KS or Austin, TX

 

Remote CTH or Remote FTE - candidates must be eligible to work in the US on a W2 basis without sponsorship or visa transfer

Core Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for defining, leading, and continuously improving the load & performance testing approach, framework, and service offerings to delivery teams

·         Lead the buildout of the L&P team, the architecture, the environment, and the tools

·         Once built out, you will lead the L&P service offering to the delivery teams, ensuring the load and performance tests meet business requirements for the respective teams working on Agile SCRUM releases

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

·         The ideal candidate needs to understand how to measure load performance tests, how to measure the database and the presentation tier and understand how to approach and improve the load

·         The tools needed: Jmeter (web based) and App Loader (desktop based, scenario build, point and click),other tools will translate into this environment

·         Script writing required; OO dev language, preference is Java

·         Bachelor of Science degree. Preferred majors are Quality Assurance Science, Quality Management, Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or other STEM related majors

·         5 years of direct work experience in technical software quality engineering leadership roles including all aspects of Load and Performance test engineering, framework development and tool deployment

·         4 years’ experience leading L&P related strategy, planning and execution activities, sizing, test data definition, data setup, set up of measures, load testing, and performance testing

·         4 years hands on experience with L&P tools

·         Experience implementing best practices, process improvements and defining strategy related to the performance and load testing of a variety of application types

·         Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to coordinate with other groups to ensure deadlines are met and system performance is acceptable before production implementation within an Agile SCRUM environment

·         Hands on programming language experience in object-oriented languages (C#, C++, Java, .Net, etc.)

·         Experience in providing guidance on L&P strategy, architecture, approach and design for various technical platforms to L&P team resources as well as teams seeking L&P services

·         Strong interpersonal skills including problem solving, decision making, influencing, managing change and working with diverse and geographically distributed teams

·         Attention to detail, professional presentation skills, and the ability to work with complex projects

·         Ability to make judgments and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data

 

Desired skills:

·         Microsoft Office Suite 

·         Jira

·         Confluence

·         Load and performance test automation framework and tools

·         Expert knowledge/expertise and advanced hands on experience in 2 or more of the following: Angular, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, .NET C#, JAVA, SQL, C/C++, etc.

·         Ability to lead and motivate a team with focus on both the company’s and the customer’s goals 

·         Proven ability to implement L&P QA standards, best practices, architecture, tools and services

·         Ability to provide consultation or consultative L&P information to interfacing teams requesting L&P related services

·         Application experience
