Senior IT Consultant

Omaha, NE or Overland Park, KS

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key Business Units to gather and analyze needs and recommend areas of opportunity with a focus on application of new technology
  • Create and explore Business Capability Assessment (BCA) recommendations and collaborate with Business Units to get the right solution delivered
  • Engage the IT organization in understanding the project scope and priority. This role will ensure the original vision/intent of the project is maintained
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and as the functional escalation point for the Business Unit
  • Engage in Digital Steering Committees to represent digital initiatives and ensure project’s objectives remain intact
  • Actively explore new and emerging technology, and how businesses are applying to better advise business units

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

·          BS in business or technology required or equivalent experience

·          10 years of progressive work experience in either business operations, technology, or consulting

·          Experience in either 1). Agriculture trading and logistics, or 2). Technology delivery for business operations

·          Exceptional creativity with a focus on the art of the possible

·          Relentless curiosity in both business and technology

·          Open, trust-building and respectfully challenging demeanor, with all levels in the company

·          Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills

·          Exceptional written communication skills, including succinct and information-rich diagrams and mock-ups

·          Must be able to work independently or in a team environment

·          Ability to organize and prioritize tasks

·          Ability to work independently to research and solve problems

·          Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in both business operations and technology
  • MBA or Masters in technology domain
  • Management experience
  • Consulting experience
  • Broad knowledge of emerging technology, including machine learning, internet of things, robotics and big data
