Sr. Engineer - Information Security

Omaha, NE

You will get to develop and drive the adoption of technical security strategy, standards, design patterns, and best practices across all areas of the enterprise. Execute roadmaps, maintain security policies, develop re-usable solutions and act as a subject matter expert. Core Responsibilities:

  • Modifies web proxy settings to mitigate constantly changing  threats such as malware, APT’s, PUP’s, and virus exploits
  • Maintains a solid understanding of web-based attacks (SQL injection, cross-site Scripting, cross-site request forgery, etc.) and defenses
  • Works with web developers on coding and designing secure web services utilized by the internal and external customers
  • Supports the implementation of information security policies, practices and procedures in order to ensure the protection of confidential information
  • Assists IT staff and end users with technical problems and implementations relative to data and computer system security and access controls
  • Detects and responds to security violations
  • Assists auditors and addresses the reporting status of audit issues and participates in security-related projects
  • Responds to threats directed against enterprise Networks, hosts and data on a

7 x 24 x 365 basis

  • Maintains security policies, standards and security patterns
  • Consults with the business and IT teams on security requirements and risk management
  • Develops and maintains critical vendor relationships with key strategic vendors on products and consulting
  • Provides guidance and direction to leadership on key security issues
  • Contributes to the development of security awareness materials relevant to area of responsibility
  • Maintains knowledge and compliance of all industry relevant regulatory requirements
  • Participates in projects and other activities involving the use of security technologies related to the protection of - Enterprise systems and data
  • Participates in the planning, development and implementation of data and system security controls
  • Conducts technical security risk assessments and participates in development and execution of remediation
  • Consults on security direction, maintaining a focus on assurance of enterprise information assets


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience mitigating web application vulnerabilities with Web Application Firewalls
  • Extensive knowledge of industry and Government standards as applicable to Information Protection and Assurance and knowledge of Information Security best practices and business controls
  • Technical expertise in multiple information security domains (e.g. Network security devices such as web application firewalls, web content filtering, application security, malware protection measures, etc.)
  • Good, practical experience in information security and a well-rounded knowledge of IT
  • General understanding of application security architecture and secure development best practices
  • Broad and deep technical knowledge and ability to learn new technologies rapidly and independently
  • Broad knowledge of security policies and practices, including ISO 17799 (27001), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Federal Financial institution regulatory agencies (OCC, FFIEC), and other internal or external governing entities
  • One or more information security certifications highly preferred (CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Engineering, a physical science, or other relevant field required - equivalent work experience may be considered
