Director - Business Intelligence & Data Quality

Omaha, NE

Primary Job Responsibilities:

·         Manages and directs the daily work activities of the Data Team, Application Development

·         Initiates personnel actions including hiring, training, goal setting and performance management

·         Plans, organizes, and schedules work to ensure efficient, effective and timely completion

·         Conducts regular staff meetings; reviews issues, implements resolutions and identifies opportunities for proactive improvement

·         Adherence to all security policies and procedures

·         Continuous evaluation of data analytic offerings to ensure the enterprise is leveraging leading edge tools

·         Works with users to gather and develop requirements and translate them into specifications for development

·         Reviews code, queries and scripts for performance or support issues and provides technical direction to team members for fixes

·         Shares knowledge and develops training with other technical users to improve skills and enhance the development environment schemas

·         Analyzes the data flow and transformations within and between systems and able to resolve related issues

·         Evaluates and develops methods regarding data integrity, reducing redundancy and eliminating incompatibilities between our systems

·         Analyzes requirements and develops and implements logical and physical database designs

·         Interfaces with internal and external data providers and executes data extract and delivery (ETL)

·         Works with implementation teams to ensure smooth deployments for technical solutions

·         Designs, codes, unit tests, debugs and documents reusable source code, SQL queries and stored procedures that will retrieve/maintain data in our system

·         Maintains multiple versions of code via source control tools

·         Works with life cycle tracking software and document development, testing and resolution of issues

·         Develops and maintains technical documentation

·         Manages all federal and state data requests submitted from the enterprise business entities.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

·         Bachelors degree in computer science or related degree or equivalent professional experience

·         5+ years management or team lead experience

·         5+ year experience in developing/implementing/maintaining an enterprise wide data analytics platform

·         Complete understanding of software development lifecycle

·         Ability to use statistical techniques to analyze and enrich data and provide key business elements to our users

·         Ability to develop enterprise automated solutions and present those solutions to the business

·         Minimum 5 years coding experience using one or more of the following: T-SQL, SQL, Perl, C#.NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET or PowerBuilder

·         5 years Sybase or SQL Server database experience

·         Experience with DDL and data modeling techniques both for logical and physical models

·         Knowledge of Windows or Unix operating systems

·         Ability to learn new reporting tools, programming languages and their development frameworks

·         Ability to learn aspects of the business, particularly as it pertains to multiple enterprise automated solutions

·         Familiar with Microsoft office tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

·         Ability to analyze complex problems and identify appropriate solutions

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple projects with customer and team members

·         Ability to effectively function as a team player

·         Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
