 DataStage Developer

Lincoln, NE

CSS Staffing has an open position with our direct client in Lincoln, NE, for a DataStage Developer. This will be part of a strategic DW team for our established client. If you can provide strong DataStage, SQL Query, testing and provide strong verbal communication within an Agile environment, then this position is for you! 

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop data management and integration programs (ETL streams) including data mappings, transforms, workflows, and scheduled jobs through all life cycle phases of design, development, testing, enhancement, maintenance, and operational support
  • Able to design and develop in an object oriented approach creating solution patterns, reusable objects, job templates and related ideas
  • Create and maintain suitable documentation including: solution patterns, program specifications, implementation details (data mapping, dataflow diagrams, etc.), test plans, and related appropriate artifacts.
  • Compile, test, run, and schedule ETL jobs effectively and efficiently.  Able to monitor and diagnose executing jobs for performance and functional issues.  Perform troubleshooting and remediation expeditiously
  • Perform data profiling and analysis to assess data quality patterns, recommend data cleansing rules, conforming data standard rules and matching algorithms
  • Develop, enhance, and support best practices and standards for data management and integration
  • Establish trust and credibility with team members
  • Provide ETL performance tuning expertise
  • Work well with team members to create estimates and time lines for design, development, testing, and enhancement phases. Work well with vendors, partners, and group associates for support
  • Participate in project management for all Group Data Warehouse program engagements

 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:     

  • Four year degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of data warehousing team experience in technology, business, and consulting roles
  • Expert-level skills and experience with an industry leading Data Management tools, Typical line of business system data technologies and a solid understanding of business rules
  • Possesses expert-level SQL query writing skills in an industry leading relational database
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic team in transition to an Agile methodology and environment
  • Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

 

 Desired skills:

  • Knowledge of the following will be helpful: Current business analytics and database technologies and toolsets including: IBM InfoSphere DataStage and Oracle RDBMS
  • IBM InfoSphere DataStage skills and experience are helpful
  • Related experience in the insurance, banking, or financial services industries
