Sr. Project Manager - Finance and Actuarial

Omaha, NE

 

Excellent Enterprise-level opportunity for a Sr. Project Manager who will act as a Finance, Insurance and Actuarial SME guiding and leading team members and Scrum Masters who have questions about the business process. This role is positioned in the business, in Finance Operations. Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the overall planning, execution, and delivery of large projects and programs to include the definition of project charters, budgets, and measures as well as developing project structures and ensuring proper operations turnover

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Types of projects in flight for this year- any similar project experience is a value-add:

1) Bringing in new Actuary product
2) Revising a new accounting/reporting structure
3) Internal processing, credit card, expenses and replacing 3rd party product
4) Introducing new markets for medical advantage in Texas and California and also selling prescription drugs - will work with 3rd party products who collect the claim $, banks who pay the claim - all business audience. Any experience managing 3rd party vendors is valuable. The theme of these projects is to replace the high cost dependencies on these 3rd parties

The expectation is not that candidates are completely fluent in these systems and projects, but that they can learn quickly, leveraging their domain knowledge and years of experience, and come back and educate the team

  • 8-10 years project management experience
  • 5-7 years of business experience
  • Experience managing large projects and programs with over $2 million in internal labor cost
  • Ability to define issues, business/technology needs, and implement solutions
  • Ability to manage projects across technologies, domains, and business functions (SBU's)
  • Partnership - demonstrates customer focus and knowledge of product, functional and operational processes

 

Desired:

  • CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • CSP (Certified Scrum Practitioner)
  • PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner)
  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master)
  • Continuing professional education related to Accountancy or Actuarial Science 
  • Industry knowledge and application (4-7 business partners, use of 8+ systems)
