Software Development Engineer in Test (Java SDET)

Omaha, NE


Seeking experienced SDET Java.  Our client is a premier Omaha-based, stable company and this is long term project work with option to convert to full-time.


Core Responsibilities

·         Author and maintain automated and performance test scripts

·         Help to develop and maintain the test automation framework used by our tools

·         Mentor other QA staff in automation best practices

·         Assist in development of Test Engineering best practices

·         Interpret data specifications from business requirements to write automated test scripts

  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using tools like Selenium (Java), SOAPUI, LoadRunner and other tools at needed
  • Analyze results of automated test executions and provide analytical input reliability of product
  • Participate in design reviews, status and project team meetings (as needed)
  • Maintain technical documentation for the automation frameworks
  • Report defects in a detailed manner to the project team


The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field or equivalent
  • Able to write code in Java and JavaScript
  • Able to write SQL statements
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies processes and tools
  • Experience setting up and/or maintaining test automation framework
  • Automation experience at the API and UI level
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to develop and execute functional automation tests
  • Ability to develop and execute load/performance/stress tests
  • Ability to develop and execute integration tests and automated regression tests
  • Experienced using test framework to increase efficiencies in automation scripting and execution, including coding standards, test-data handling methods, object repositories and information on how to access external resources
