Project Management Support 

Omaha, NE

 

Assist project manager in all aspects of project management including project planning, data gathering, analysis, development, communication, status tracking, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up. Coordinate project and resource booking, including roadmap and resource tracking activities with project manager and communicates to key project stakeholders.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the continual roadmap planning process which receives new project requests and performs the project initiation steps required to bring it to a project
  • Assist project manager in all aspects of project management including project planning, data gathering, analysis, development, communication, status tracking, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up
  • Coordinate project activities with project manager and communicates to key project stakeholders
  • Track the progress of project(s), including milestones, budget, action items and issues
  • Develop project work break down structures using MS Project following a project management life cycle methodology
  • Design/implement MS-Project templates and filters for project plan tracking and reporting
  • Design/distribute templates to facilitate project tracking, change control, metrics, and issue decision management
  • Follow-up on project issues with project manager(s) to assist in the development of solutions
  • Follow through on action items generated from project team meetings
  • Act as liaison between various stakeholders, departments, outside agencies, or collaborators, providing status reports and data analysis and ensuring flow of communication between groups
  • Perform ongoing maintenance of the project knowledge base and PMO document archives
  • Recommend/develop operational or process improvements for the performance and successful functioning
  • Participate in required meetings, activities, and related projects and relevant interdepartmental activities

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Experience working with Sr. Level Project Managers
  • Familiarity with MS Project and MS SharePoint
  • Comfortable communicating professionally with technical teams
  • Proven ability to work with MS Office applications; Outlook, Excel pivot tables, Word, OneNote, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with project portfolio management systems
  • Experience managing small projects
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule
  • Good team work and leadership skills; persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
  • Ensure that all team members understand the scope of the project as well as what they are individually responsible for
  • Communicate relevant information to all team members, such as change in schedule dates, changes in the project’s requirements, etc.
  • Coordinate meetings/prepare and edit meeting minutes, presentations and tables
  • Compile and maintain interim project reports and minutes of meetings
  • Assist the project leader in various activities such as budget monitoring and in meetings with management
  • Conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Must have good time management, multitasking and stress management skills to be able to ensure that tasks get completed on time
  • Ability to make good decisions quickly and provide alternate solutions
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills
  • Must be well organized and systematic in working
  • Attention to detail

 

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project management
  • Project management certification
