QA Lead / Test Engineer

Omaha, NE


Immediate opportunity to join a reputable Omaha Client in a strategic Test Lead role


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the administrator/subject matter expert of one or more test data management, change management, automated testing or other process improvement solutions, such as Optim test data management, CA – Software Change Manager, and Rational Functional and Performance Tester
  • Collaborates within the Business Technology division and across business divisions to follow best practices and process improvements in testing, test data management and software change management; coordinate and drive the related implementation efforts
  • Recommends process improvements and/or tools, as appropriate
  • Document defects and assist with classification, tracking, retesting, and resolution as required
  • Shares knowledge with other staff in the effective and appropriate use of testing, test data and change management, automated measurement and metric calculation processes and tools


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in creating clear, concise, detail oriented test plans/cases, confirming that the tests will satisfy business, functional, and performance requirements
  • Experience in test execution to support both manual and automated testing
  • Demonstrated expertise in database testing in DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server database environments, including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored processes, jobs, triggers and replication
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including but not limited to: planning, coordinating, facilitating, driving for results, encouraging, mentoring, communicating, monitoring progress, proactively recognizing and reporting issues, problem solving, managing expectations, providing feedback and solutions
  • Understanding of test methodologies for client, server, service and mainframe software
  • Dedicated to the effectiveness and efficiency of testing and quality management
  • Ability to learn fast, be self-driven and to work across teams and disciplines
  • Proven success as a liaison with development, test engineer team, architecture board, project management, and business partners in achieving quality assurance goals
  • Ability to engage well with others - strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • High level of organization skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work efforts under aggressive deadlines

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Contract through 2018 with option to  renew for 2019
