Java Developer

Omaha, NE

 

Contract to hire - candidates must be eligible to work in the US on a W2 basis without sponsorship or visa transfer

 

Seeking experienced Java Developers.  Our client is a premier Omaha-based, stable company and this is long term project work with option to convert to full-time. 

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the quality delivery of business value through the development, integration, configuration and deployment of technology solutions
  • Consults/collaborates with the business to ensure clarification of business requirements
  • Design, configure, develop, integrate, tests and deploys technology solutions to meet business requirements
  • Engaged in ongoing growth and development in the area of technology while promoting the stated application strategy
  • Optimizes processes for effectiveness & productivity

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
  • Ability to work with varying technical tools required to fulfill responsibilities; ability to quickly adapt to changing technologies
  • Ability to iteratively and incrementally improve both products and processes; ability to analyze and resolve performance issues in all environments
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and/or DB2, understanding the basics of database operations including writing stored procedures, tuning, and profiling
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience building and maintaining solutions using Microsoft Visual Studio (prefer version 2015)
  • Experience with Entity Framework or similar ORM
  • Demonstrated successful experience in multiple technologies pertinent in the client’s environment. Required: Apache-Tomcat, JMS, JSP, Java, Web, Linux, Windows
  • 1 or more years of JSP, Spring, MVC, JMX, HTML5
  • Experience with Hibernate or similar ORM
  • GIT or similar source control knowledge, understanding concepts such as check-ins/outs, branching, shelving code and versioning
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information effectively to both IT and business audience; demonstrated ability to work in and lead an interdisciplinary team

 

 

Desired

  • Experience working in the Insurance industry
  • Experience performing on an Agile team
  • Experience with JSON & XML
