UI Application Developer

Omaha, NE

 

Direct hire - candidates must be eligible to work in the US on a W2 basis without sponsorship or visa transfer

 

Our client is seeking a UI Developer that not only has strong technical skills, but is also passionate about their craft. Working in a true Agile fashion with a highly collaborative cross-functional team allows you to create robust and praiseworthy web applications.   

This role will contribute to all phases of the software development life cycle, including development, testing, implementation and ongoing production support. You will have experience in both front-end and back-end development, but will primarily focus on the front end.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

·         A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field. Strong applicable experience may be taken into account in lieu of a degree

·         3+ years of solid, hands-on web application development experience in a professional environment

·         Strong front-end/UI development skills:

o    2+ years JavaScript development

o    Experience with HTML5 and CSS3

o    Working knowledge of enterprise web applications and best practices

o    Familiarity with front-end testing tools and standards

o    Ability to diagnose cross-browser quirks & determine acceptable work-arounds

·         Willingness to support 24x7 operations of mission critical systems

 

Desired:

·         Familiarity with Spring MVC, Service-oriented architecture (SOA), Java Messaging Service (JMS) and the Structured Query Language (SQL)

·         Working experience with front-end UI development technologies such as AngularJS, Grunt and/or Gulp, NodeJS/npm, Sass, Yeoman, Zurb Foundation

·         Working experience with source management and build tools such as Subversion, Maven, and Git

·         Working experience with back-end development technologies and tools such as Java containers (Tomcat), continuous integration tools (Jenkins or equivalent), and quality management platforms (SonarQube or equivalent)

·         Back-end/Java development skills:

o  3+ years Java development

o  Solid knowledge of Object Oriented development techniques

o  Source control management tool experience

o  Solid Test Driven Development knowledge

o  Working knowledge of enterprise Java best practices

o  Desire for continuous aggressive learning
