Quality Assurance Manual Software Analyst

Omaha, NE

 

Direct hire - Candidates must be eligible to work in the US on a W2 basis without sponsorship or visa transfer

 

The primary responsibility of this position is to work with the project team to ensure all required related deliverables are clearly understood and necessary testing is completed to ensure such requirements are met. The candidate will be responsible for established QA test plans and test methods for manual and/or automated testing, including communication of testing results. This candidate will be well-versed in the software development life cycle, Agile and quality assurance methodologies.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Integrate with the current methodology to quickly and efficiently produce and execute high quality products and services
  • Work with peers in Development, Program Management and other stakeholders to plan and prioritize test strategy to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services
  • Analyze business requirements and design documentation to formulate and develop test plans and test scripts
  • Ensure validated deliverables meet business requirements and design documentation
  • Design, develop and maintain test plans, test scripts and test data to ensure and gauge product quality, while effectively minimizing manual testing and leading to more effective code coverage
  • Execute manual and automated test scripts, including documenting and reporting the test results
  • Identify and facilitate issue resolution with functional and technical groups
  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management
  • Log defects in a detailed, understandable and reproducible manner, and track defects through to closure by working closely with development team
  • Identify areas for improving efficiency, shortening of test cycles and automation of test scripts, while recommending solutions for improvement
  • Provide estimated labor and determine product delivery schedules
  • Coordinate all test activities in a team environment to drive towards a successful project delivery and meet agreed-upon milestones
  • Identify and adopt new testing methodologies, best practices and tools from appropriate sources to improve test coverage

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science or MIS
  • 5+ years of relevant QA technical experience
  • Strong knowledge of software development cycle, Agile and quality assurance methodologies
  • Knowledge of manual and automated testing strategies, techniques and practices
  • Ability to understand and analyze business, functional, non-functional, technical and User Interface (UI) requirements
  • Manual or automated test execution in several levels of testing (functional, system, user, regression)
  • Ability to exhibit creating thinking and collaboration
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shift priorities and change rapidly 
  • Strong knowledge of software packages or tools (Word, Excel, SQL queries) 
  • Ability to work proactively and independently
  • Ability to create clear and concise test plans and scripts from requirements, verbal communications other supplemental specifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) the current project status, related testing metrics and other concerns as related to the project testing
  • Strong analytical skills, technical aptitude and written/verbal communication skills
