Strong SQL Server Database Developer needed to join the application and database team to deliver enterprise level SQL Server database solutions in support of enterprise level applications. This position will be working on key strategic projects delivering new technology solutions and supporting our current database architecture. The role will work collaboratively with the business teams, application development teams, business intelligence team, and database administrator. 

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide database analysis, design, development, and support of enterprise level applications
  • Ensure security and privacy of data across people, process, and technologies of company databases
  • Apply best practices analyzing, designing, developing, and supporting enterprise databases
  • Work on cross-functional teams ensuring the delivery of software solutions as planned, within set budget and project timelines
  • Collaborate with the application development teams and Database Administrator to ensure standards for database development and databases
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems
  • Perform database and SQL performance tuning
  • Deliver solutions for application database integration utilizing ETL
  • Participate in multiple projects simultaneously as a development team member
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to and assisting with help desk calls to resolve issues, including system outage.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Extensive experience developing/analyzing database schemas, designing, coding T-SQL objects, and creating database optimizations where applicable. The SQL Developer will utilize their extensive experience developing database schemas, designing, coding and debugging stored procedures, user defined functions, views, and performing database optimizations
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field, or the equivalence of 4 years related work experience
  • 4+ years’ experience designing and implementing database objects using best practices within Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience in eCommerce transactional SQL Server development
  • Knowledge of database normalization, indexing, transaction protection, and locking is essential
  • Develop tables, views, stored procedures, indexes, functions, and constraints
  • Strong knowledge and experience using Transact-SQL including writing complex queries for ad-hoc requests and data analysis
  • Experienced in performance improvements through database and SQL optimization
  • Excellent troubleshooting ability solving highly complex database and SQL problems

 

Desired skills:

  • Experience with high transaction volumes and scalable database models
  • Proficient knowledge of data modeling concepts and formalized database design including creating tables, indexes, and enforcing data integrity
  • Demonstrated experience in application database integration
  • Experience working with Microsoft’s .Net Framework, Visual Studio, and TFS
  • Practice of Agile and Scrum
