ETL Tester

Omaha, NE


The ETL Tester will be responsible for ensuring data quality and accuracy as well as following the informational requirements of the organization.  This role will work closely with the data management team and business users coordinate testing efforts and to create and execute test cases, and accurately log test results/issues according to standards.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop testing programs that address database impacts, regression testing, usability of data
  • Analyze business and functional requirements
  • Responsible for data warehousing and ETL testing utilizing tools including DB Forge, IDQ and MTM
  • Develop, document and maintain data quality goals and standards
  • Document and coordinate test plan, test scenarios, test scripts
  • Estimate quality assurance efforts
  • Identify, analyze and document problems with functionality, output files, or tables
  • Monitor defect resolution efforts and track progress
  • Work with team and business partners to complete UAT testing


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 4+ years of related experience performing data validation and test data management
  • Experience with each of the following: 1) SDLC; 2) Quality Assurance methodologies including UAT 3) Data Warehousing and ETL testing 4) Database SQL experience
  • 4+ years with traditional databases such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, ETL tools/processes and data warehousing architectures
  • Previous experience with DB Forge, IDQ, MDM, and using tools such as Informatica and job scheduling
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems and asynchronous architectures
  • Experience with raw, unstructured data
  • Strong quantitative, data tabulation and analytic skills
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies in data by writing queries and comparative analysis
  • Ability to develop and use test plans, test cases, test scripts, test results
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams


Desired skills:

  • Experience working in Insurance or Financial industry
