Core Responsibilities:
- Using the runbooks furnished by the project team address customer issues related to hosting solutions. When appropriate, expand the knowledge base by adding procedural documentation to process repository
- Provide Tier 3 escalation support to the Command Center
- Develop or modify Cloud Infrastructure to meet business objectives of a diverse customer base
- Maximize system performance via monitoring, troubleshoot system problems and outages, schedule upgrades via change control and maintenance windows
- Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify problems with systems, storage, and virtualization
- Assist in incident management including problem resolution and tracking problems
- Assist in regulatory body attestations to maintain compliance of hosted cloud environment
- Work with multiple customers, stakeholders, and system owners to produce requirements, determine feasibility, analyze cost/benefits requirements and recommend design solution options
- Provide training and technical support for both internal and external user with varying levels of technology attitude
- Document and follow processes needed to drive operational stability and standardization of system design
- Design, implement, and maintain server, storage, network, and security infrastructure
- Maintain and update disaster recovery and business continuity architecture
- Support external customers by the use of a process driven approach to customer service
- Implement system and software upgrades as directed
- Open, resolve, and maintain help desk tickets while maintaining the committed SLA resolution times
- Create, update, and execute Change Requests as directed
- Develop and implement internal systems, processes, and best practices to be used by other teams designed to increase productivity
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience non-technical skills
- 4+ years IT Infrastructure background related to cloud, virtualization, networking, and security
- Strong understanding of the following: Windows Server, Windows operating systems and Active Directory
- Windows technologies: Server2008/2012, Active Directory, SQL Server, PowerShell
- Linux technologies: Redhat6/7, NIS, IP Tables, Bash Scripting, Perl, Postfix, SSSD, Satellite
- Ability to work well as part of a cross-functional team environment
- Experience with advanced System engineering/architecture/administration in a large and distributed environment
- At least 3 years of experience and a working knowledge of the AWS and Azure cloud solutions and how to connect to them
- Expert knowledge in at least two of the following items: Windows Server, Solaris, Linux, VMware, Citrix, PowerShell, Exchange
- Current MCSE/MCP Certification
Desired skills:
- Certification in at least one of the following areas: vCenter, vSphere, Linux, UNIX
- Experience with PCI compliance
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS server platform environment and management, IMC central, UCS Manager/Director, and EMC and Storage
- The ability to interact with external customers and to put their request into workable solutions
- High level of discipline in process and approach
- Ability to act decisively and work well under pressure
