 Data Modeler

Omaha, NE

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform data profiling and analysis on source system.
  • Understand business requirements
  • Define a Reference Logical Data Model approach for the client’s EDW.
  • Define physical data model
  • Detail integration points for SAP data
  • Define technical Metadata definition
  • Leverage TAS, SAP and Non-SAP data to project physical data models, and integrate into a single integrated physical data model using an industry standard data model as a reference to ensure business extendibility
  • Focus on attribute harmonization while the other Data Modelers focus on core relationships
  • Work in conjunction and supporting the other Data Modelers
  • Establish a core foundational Logical Data Model environment.
  • Define a Reference Logical Data Model approach for the client’s EDW
  • Define physical data model
  • Detail integration points for SAP data
  • Define technical Metadata definition
  • Source System mapping created Reference Logical Data Model.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:     

  • 5+ years experience as a data modeler for Enterprise Data Warehouses
  • 3+ years experience modeling SAP data for BI with at least two (2) full lifecycles delivering a large and complex solution
  • 3+ years experience with SQL Server, Oracle and Teradata
  • Strong Business Intelligence data model knowledge
  • Proven experience modeling flat and efficient information solutions
  • Deep understanding of Master Data and Metadata
  • Proven ability to work in an environment with complex solutions and models
  • Proven ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to architect a solution including detailed written/visual documentation with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven experience as an advocate for data standards
  • Proven ability to thrive within a matrixed organization
  • Ability to translate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and resources staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate and create consensus
  • Proven ability to work with the PMO to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • TOOLS: ERWIN (industry standard) Power Designer

 

Desired skills:

  • SAP
  • Working knowledge of Power Designer
